Small & Medium Breed Adult Formula Specifically designed for the nutritional needs of small & medium breed adult dogs. Product Information Best Years Small & Medium Breed Adult Formula is specifically designed for the proper maintenance of small and medium breed dogs from 1 to 8 years of age. The nutritional requirements of smaller breed adult dogs are very different from that of growing puppies. While adult dogs still require quality protein and adequate energy levels to maintain a balanced diet, their muscular needs and activity levels have changed. Best Years Small & Medium Breed Adult Formula uses select ingredients such as beef meal and salmon meal to support the demanding muscular needs of your dog, while also providing high quality carbohydrates that ensure the necessary energy levels to support this active period in your pet’s life. With a delicious taste to stimulate a hearty appetite and the right sized, crunchy kibble to promote healthy teeth, Best Years provides the nutrition your dog deserves.
Recommended Daily Feeding Use a standard 8 oz. measuring cup. The recommended daily feeding amounts in the chart to the left are based on the average nutritional requirements of healthy adult dogs with regular activity. These feeding amounts are a starting point, but many animals will need more or less food depending on factors such as activity level, age and breed. Most adult dogs can be fed once a day. For your large breed adult dogs, please see our specifically designed Best Years Large Breed Adult Formula.
Discuss your dog's ideal weight during regular checkups with your veterinarian. It is important not to let your dog become overweight. All Best Years formulas are 100% complete and balanced, so additional supplements are not necessary unless advised by your veterinarian. Please remember that water should be available at all times, and changed frequently to ensure freshness.
For Pregnant or Nursing Dogs: Best Years Small & Medium Breed Adult Formula provides excellent nutrition for female dogs that are pregnant or nursing. Starting at the fourth week of pregnancy, you may need to gradually increase the total daily feeding of your dog by as much as 25% to 50% more than her normal diet, depending on the size of her litter, to maintain a healthy weight. Dogs that are lactating may need as much as 2 to 4 times their normal feeding amounts, depending on litter size and breed. Consult your veterinarian often during this period for the proper care and feeding of your pregnant and nursing female dogs. Feeding Guidelines
