Recommended Daily Feeding
Use a standard 8 oz. measuring cup. The recommended daily feeding amounts in the chart to the left are based on the average nutritional requirements of healthy senior dogs with regular activity. These feeding amounts are a starting point, but many animals will need more or less food depending on factors such as activity level, age and breed. Most senior dogs can be fed once a day. Discuss your dog's ideal weight during regular checkups with your veterinarian. It is important not to let your dog become overweight.
